Congrats to Indian Cricket Team for winning Start to their ICC World Twenty20 Campaign

Good morning friends.  With all the hard work, India did it again.  We are proud again this time with our fellowman by beating Bangladesh in 20-20 opener.

Telling knocks of 50 by opener Gautam Gambhir and 41 by middle-order bat Yuvraj Singh, besides a four wicket haul by left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha, helped India fashion a convincing 25 run win over Bangladesh at Trent Bridge in their first match of the Twenty20 World Cup on Saturday evening.

India scored 180 for 5 and in reply, Bangladesh scored 155 for 8.

It took Yuvraj 18 balls to undo 10 overs’ of hard work by Bangladesh that had pulled India back after another solid start from Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma. It took Pragyan Ojha five balls to undo their eight overs of keeping pace with a stiff total.

For Bangladesh, the stars were Junaid Siddique and Shakib Al Hasan.

The match started with Gambhir and Rohit continuing to ensure that India didn’t miss the injured opener Virender Sehwag.

Rohit batted like a seasoned Twenty20 opener and took charge after Gambhir had got off to a quick start with a square-cut boundary off the second ball of the match.

India reached 54 in the first six overs, with Rohit scoring 32 off 18. Mohammad Ashraful immediately introduced spin, and Rohit got out trying to dominate them.

MS Dhoni came out first drop, but Shakib slowed things down with a three-over spell that went for 17 and included Rohit’s wicket.

Yuvraj carried out an assault that broke Bangladeshi hearts – and resistance. After his dismissal, Bangladesh then clawed their way back, keeping Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan quiet.

Irfan Pathan smote a six and a four to post a challenging total.

That final assault wasn’t enough to deflate Bangladesh’s confidence. (ANI) – OneIndia

India win Hamilton Test, a win in NZ after 33 years (2)

Brendon McCullum joined Flynn at the crease to reach up to the set total by the tourists and set a decent lead to save the match for their side. But Harbhajan struck for the third time to cut short Flynn’s outing through Gambhir’s catch at forward short-leg. His 67 runs gave a sense of hope to beleaguered Kiwis which were soon diminished by the mighty Indians.

New Zealand struggled at 161 for 7 when skipper Daniel Vettori came in to revive Kiwi innings. He made 21 runs and gifted another Kiwi wicket to Harbhajan off Dhoni. Ian O’Brien entered next to partner McCullum and both played safe on 5 and 30 when New Zealand were 216/8 at tea.

O’Brien (14) stuck around for a while, supported McCullum well, who raised his 13th half-century of his Test career in the last session, and made his way out. It was yet again, Harbhajan who did the honors for India, clinching sixth wicket of the Test match.

McCullum (84) looked set to smash his third Test century but part-time spinner Yuvraj Singh spoiled the party with the help of Laxman at short fine-leg. 38-run lead was all the Kiwis could manage and India were virtually set for the first Test win since the Auckland Test in 1976.

India were all out for 520 runs with a lead of 241 runs. Tendulkar led Indian batting’s motivated performance. While three batsmen made half-centuries, Sachin raised a well-crafted hundred.

‘Ton’dulkar demolishes England, India go one up

Good Evening Friends, Congratulations to Indian cricket team, my favourit Sachin Tendulkar and all my Indian cricket lovers. Indian beat England in first test match at Chennai.  My star Tendulkar hits 41st Test hundred with a swept boundary as India set a record for a victorious fourth-innings run chase on home soil to beat England by six wickets in the first cricket test.

Riding on knocks from Sachin Tendulkar (103*), Virender Sehwag (83) and Yuvraj Singh (84*), India galloped from behind to beat England by 6 wickets in the first Test at Chennai and take a 1-0 lead.

After England declared their innings on the fourth day for 386 runs, the match saw a dramatic turnaround when Sehwag went berserk to give India a fantastic start. He laid the perfect foundation for his mates to capitalize and was aptly adjudged the ‘Man of the Match’. Though he lost his wicket on Sunday, he had the match split wide open.

Guiding India to victory with a four that also fetched him his 41st Test hundred, Sachin Tendulkar on Monday rated his knock in the first Test against England among his “very, very special” centuries.

“If the team wins the 100 become very very special, so this is right among my special centuries,” said Tendulkar, who scored an unbeaten 103 to guide India to a six-wicket victory at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here.

The Mumbai batsman hoped his feat would give some happiness to the people after the recent terror attacks in his city.

“What happened in Mumbai was extremely unfortunate. Cricket cannot lessen whatever happened… I hope this 100 will give some amount of happiness to the people,” he said.

“I thank those who stood up to the terrorists and who made sure that they were captured or shot dead as the terrorists were many.

“I salute the NSG commandos, Taj hotel staff, police, public and everyone,” he said paying rich tributes to the victims of recent terror attacks in Mumbai and saluted those who salvaged the lives of others.

Tendulkar said it was a very difficult track to bat on and that made the win all the more significant.

“The gameplan was to get opportunity for scoring more and more runs because the wicket was such and we could not be bogged down by that.

“This become a very very special victory on a track where the ball was jumping awfully,” he said. more

Yuvi’s princely show gives India 2-0 lead

India Win the second ODI against England today. I like to congratulate Indian cricket team as well as all my country people. Yuvraj Singh was outstanding today. He made his century this match also and took 4 wickets of England.

Yuvraj Singh clobbered his second successive century and then scalped four key wickets as India maintained their stranglehold over England by thrashing the visitors by 54 runs in the second One-dayer on Monday. Yuvraj Singh blasted his second consecutive century and grabbed four wickets to guide India to a comfortable 54-run win over England today in the second one-day international.

The Indians rode on Yuvraj’s scintillating 118 to post a competitive 292 for nine and then bundled out England for 238 in 47 overs to take a 2-0 lead in the seven-match series. England collapsed to 238 all out after Yuvraj ended a 96-run second-wicket partnership by removing Owais Shah (58) and Matt Prior (38) in successive overs before returning 4-28 bowling slow left-arm spin on a sluggish pitch.

He proved his ability as a left-arm spinner by returning dream figures of 10-0-28-4 which included the prized scalps of Andrew Flintoff, Kevin Pietersen and Owais Shah. The Punjab swashbuckler stitched 134 runs for the fourth wicket with the in-form Gautam Gambhir (70) while the lanky Yousuf Pathan provided the late sparks to the innings with an savage unbeaten 50 off just 29 balls.
