jade-goody

Good morning friends.  I don’t know if we have to be happy to know about Jade Goody.  She is a good actress.  Maybe with some they may think that as she was suffering from cervical cancer, it was good the it ends already.  She will not feel the pain anymore.  But with some, they feel bad about what happen to her.  Many knows she was a good actress and she was loved by many.  But the important thing is that she is already there beside our God.  Feel no pain with God Almighty.  It was reference in Yahoo News about her story.  It was a heart touching story of Jade Goody.

Seven years after becoming Britain’s best known reality TV star, cancer-stricken Jade Goody died quietly in her sleep Sunday, earning handsome tributes from around the world, including India where she learnt last year that she did not have many months to live.

Goody, 27, ill with cervical cancer, died at her home in Upshire, a village in southeast England, at 3.14 a.m. GMT with her mother Jackiey Budden, husband Jack Tweed and family friend Kevin Adams by her side, her publicist Max Clifford said.

Goody’s mother said: ‘My beautiful daughter is at peace.’  The actress slipped into a coma-like state Saturday and was declared too ill to spend any time with her sons.  Clifford said it was ironic that Goody had died on Mother’s Day.

The television star, who lived out her most intimate moments in front of the camera, struck media deals worth nearly a million pounds to secure the future of her two young sons – Bobby, 5, and Freddie, 4.

India move to 2nd spot in ODI rankings -1

Riding on their nine consecutive ODI victories, MS Dhoni-led Indian team has moved up to the second spot in the latest ICC rankings.

India displaced Australia who slipped to the third position in ODI rankings. India move up after 4 ODI wins against Sri Lanka and Australia’s two consecutive losses against New Zealand.

India have 122 points to be just three points behind World No. 1 South Africa. After thrashing Australia 4-1 in the five-match ODI series, the Proteas clinched the No. 1 position. Australia (121) have been pushed to the third place while New Zealand follow on fourth rung with 117 points. Pakistan are fifth while England and Sri Lanka are sixth and seventh respectively.

South Africa and India are also the top challengers to Ricky Ponting’s team in both versions of the game.

In ICC Test Rankings, Australia have 126 points while second placed South Africa is 121 and would get a chance to topple Australia when they take on Ponting’s men in a home series beginning later this month. India are third placed with 118 points.

The number one ODI team on April 1 will be richer by $175,000 with the runners-up getting $75,000.

Lord Paul creats History

Good afternoon friends, something we should take produe again. NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul scripted history by becoming the first Asian to preside over the proceedings in the House of Lords, which co-incidentally witnessed an absorbing debate on Mumbai terror attacks and Sachin Tendulkar’s match-winning century against England.

Participating in the 150-minute long debate on Thursday, Chairman of the UK-India Business Council Lord Karan Bilimoria congratulated Lord Paul on his appointment as the Deputy Speaker of the House and said that Non-Resident Immigrants in Britain were now reaching the top positions in every field.

Several Peers walked up to Lord Paul on assuming the high office as he sat on the woolsack, a large red seat stuffed with wool, at the front of the Lords Chamber. Lady Aruna Paul witnessed the proceedings from the special gallery.

Conferred the Peerage in 1996 and honoured with the Padma Bhushan by President of India in 1983, 77-year-old Lord Paul is one of the most famous Indian origin entrepreneurs based in Britain.

He is the founder of the multinational company Caparo, the UK-based steel and engineering group, with an annual turnover of 1.5 billion pounds.

Lord Bilimoria said that he thoroughly enjoyed the recent Chennai Test between India and England and was overjoyed when Sachin Tendulkar scored a century and India won the tie, Sachin dedicating the century to the people of India.

He said despite the recent terrorists’ attacks and all India’s challenges and complexities, these difficulties would not hold back India’s “unstoppable momentum”.

Hyderabad-born Lord Bilimoria commended India for its restraint in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai and said the attacks were not just an attack on Mumbai but an attack on the US, Israel and Britain.

Yuvraj leads India’s big win over England

Bravo for Indian cricket player Yuvi. Today India defeats England in first one day international at Rajkot. Yuvraj Singh struck the second fastest one-day century by an Indian to set up the team’s thumping 158-run victory over England in the first one-day international on Friday. Despite some fighting knocks from skipper Kevin Pietersen and Ravi Bopara, England fell short by 158 runs as India won the first One-Day International of the seven-match series in Rajkot.

The 26-year-old left-hander smashed 138 not out in just 78 balls to help India post an imposing 387 for five for their best one-day total against a test-playing nation. It was the highest total England has ever conceded and end in one of their heaviest defeats after being bowled out for 229 despite fifties by skipper Kevin Pietersen (63) and Ravi Bopara (54).

Left-arm seamer Zaheer Khan took three quick wickets in an electrifying seven-over opening spell to trigger a top-order collapse from England.

The second match in the seven-match series will be played in Indore on Monday.

Put in to bat first, Indian batsmen made merry after seeing through the first few overs. England’s nemesis Yuvraj toyed with the bowlers to raise ninth ODI hundred, his second against the visitors. Yuvraj, who was suffering from a back spasm, dealt the bowlers in boundaries, and hit sixteen 4s and six 6s in his 78-ball long outing. Everything that he hit found itself on the other side of the rope. His hundred was the second fastest ton by an Indian.
