Good morning friends.   Tendulkar, Harbhajan script India’s tri-series triumph.  Tendulkar seemed to be domineering as he marked up his 44th ODI century with an eye-catching demonstration  of his  stroke play.  He is very good in that.

Sachin Tendulkar’s 44th ODI century and Harbhajan Singh’s five-wicket haul scripted India’s tri-series triumph as the visitors raised their game when it mattered most and cruised to a 46-run win in the final match against Sri Lanka here on Monday.

Thumped by 139 runs in their Saturday’s meeting which cost them world number one ODI team’s tag, India first amassed 319 for five and then shot out Sri Lanka for 273 in 46.4 overs to settle score.

Chasing a mammoth 320-run target, Sri Lanka got the perfect start from Tillakaratne Dilshan (42 off 29 balls) and Sanath Jayasuriya (36) before running out of steam. Down the order, the 70-run stand between Thilina Kandamby (66) Chamara Kapugedera (35) was a mere act of defiance and not enough to turn the match on its head.

Harbhajan Singh (5/56) was the wrecker-in-chief even though he missed a hat-trick chance.

Earlier, the Indian top order fired in unison and Tendulkar’s majestic 133-ball 138 lifted them to a massive 319 for five wickets after Mahendra Singh Dhoni had won an important toss and elected to bat.

Tendulkar raised 95 runs with makeshift opener Rahul Dravid (39) and 110 with next man in Dhoni (56) and then Yuvraj Singh (56) provided the late charge to take the tally past the 300-mark.

The target was tough but Sri Lanka looked game for a fight with Dilshan going after Ishant Sharma. Dilshan greeted Ishant with back-to-back fours in his first over and then went on a rampage.

The famous Dilscoop was not far behind either as Dilshan executed the shot against his bemused Delhi Daredevils teammate Ashish Nehra.

Desperate for a breakthrough, Dhoni pressed in service Harbhajan Singh as early as in the eighth over and the offie did not let his skipper down, dealing a double strike that knocked the stuff out of Sri Lanka’s chase.

Harbhajan castled Dilshan with his fifth delivery and then returned to catch Mahela Jayawardene (1) off his own bowling in his next over.

Good  day to everyone.  India win Test series on Kiwi soil after 41 yrs.  With reference to NDTV Cricket, despite the draw today, India ended their long wait of 41 years to win a Test series in New Zealand after Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi-led side drubbed the Kiwis 3-1 in 1968.  India claimed their first Test series victory in New Zealand since 1968 after rain forced the third and final Test to end in a draw on Tuesday.

Bad weather disrupted the final day of the last Test of the series at the Basin Reserve in Wellington, allowing the hosts to pick up a draw after being set an improbable target of 617 runs for victory.

As the visitors looked all set to register a 2-0 series victory, the weather refused to relent. The rain forced the teams off 30 minutes into the afternoon session with New Zealand 281 for eight, still 336 runs short, and play was finally called off at 4.31pm local time with 57.3 over remaining.

India won the first Test in Hamilton by 10 wickets, with the second Test at McLean Park ending in a draw after India batted for the final two days to save the game.

They were heading for another thumping victory in Wellington after making 379 in their first innings then bowling the Kiwis out for 197. Captain MS Dhoni declared India’s second innings at 434 for seven midway through the morning session on day four, leaving the New Zealanders a huge run chase they never looked likely to accomplish.

Ross Taylor was again the top scorer for the Black Caps with 107 following on from his first innings of 42. It was Taylor s fourth Test century and second in successive Tests after he scored 151 in the drawn second Test in Napier. Martin Guptill and James Franklin both scored 49 for the only other scores of note in the second innings.

The Indian bowlers Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh proved to be New Zealand’s nemeses, although part-time spinner Sachin Tendulkar’s introduction was rewarding. The little master took two wickets for 26 runs in his six-over spell before lunch.

Good Evening Friends, Something I can take proude on master blaster Sachin Tendulkar. He writes a letter of apologies to his would be neighbours. I think this shows his greatness as human. He allredy prove his greatness on playground. This is how great he is as human. It shows that he care for the people who are going to be his neighbours. I think this is the quality of Human. Being human we are suppose to care all who are around us.

In a gesture that has moved his would-be neighbours, Sachin Tendulkar has sent a letter apologising for the “inconvenience” caused by the construction work on a plot in suburban Bandra where he is building a new house.

Surprised by Tendulkar’s letter that was hand delivered, about 100 residents in the Perry Cross Road area, where the cricketer’s new abode is coming up, have welcomed the little master’s gesture.

“He is very humble and a true gentleman. He has not only won our hearts on the field but also moved us by this sincere gesture. We extend our full support to him,” said Yvette Gonsalves, resident of Perry Cross Road.

“Disturbance during any kind of construction work is inevitable. But Tendulkar need not worry about it. We are whole-heartedly welcoming our new neighbour,” she grinned.

Tendulkar who had bought the sprawling Dorab Villa earlier this year, is dismantling the existing structure to build a new multi-storeyed house.

The work at the site commenced two months ago.

Presently, piling work is on to prepare the foundation of the bungalow, which is expected to be ready within a year.

However the hectic construction work has drawn attention with neighbours discussing the ‘disturbance’.

“Residents of some buildings said that they could not take a nap in the afternoon and senior citizens are also being disturbed. Tendulkar’s letter has won their hearts,” said a watchman.

Local corporator Asif Zakaria applauded Tendulkar’s move. “It is good to know that such a big person understands problems of the common man”, he said.

The letter dated December 5 reads:

“My dear neighbours,

You must be aware that I have purchased a plot on Perry Cross Road, and the piling work for the construction of my house has already started. I was there at the site when the work commenced and I am aware of the noise generated by the machine. I want to reassure you that I will make sure that the work is done in a manner causing least inconvenience to all. 

Your cooperation is appreciated and I look forward to moving into the neighbourhood soon.”

Indian beat England in first test match at Chennai.  My star Tendulkar hits 41st Test hundred with a swept boundary as India set a record for a victorious fourth-innings run chase on home soil to beat England by six wickets in the first cricket test.

Riding on knocks from Sachin Tendulkar (103*), Virender Sehwag (83) and Yuvraj Singh (84*), India galloped from behind to beat England by 6 wickets in the first Test at Chennai and take a 1-0 lead.

After England declared their innings on the fourth day for 386 runs, the match saw a dramatic turnaround when Sehwag went berserk to give India a fantastic start. He laid the perfect foundation for his mates to capitalize and was aptly adjudged the ‘Man of the Match’. Though he lost his wicket on Sunday, he had the match split wide open. 

Guiding India to victory with a four that also fetched him his 41st Test hundred, Sachin Tendulkar on Monday rated his knock in the first Test against England among his “very, very special” centuries.

“If the team wins the 100 become very very special, so this is right among my special centuries,” said Tendulkar, who scored an unbeaten 103 to guide India to a six-wicket victory at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here.

The Mumbai batsman hoped his feat would give some happiness to the people after the recent terror attacks in his city.

“What happened in Mumbai was extremely unfortunate. Cricket cannot lessen whatever happened… I hope this 100 will give some amount of happiness to the people,” he said.

“I thank those who stood up to the terrorists and who made sure that they were captured or shot dead as the terrorists were many.

“I salute the NSG commandos, Taj hotel staff, police, public and everyone,” he said paying rich tributes to the victims of recent terror attacks in Mumbai and saluted those who salvaged the lives of others.

Tendulkar said it was a very difficult track to bat on and that made the win all the more significant.

“The gameplan was to get opportunity for scoring more and more runs because the wicket was such and we could not be bogged down by that.

“This become a very very special victory on a track where the ball was jumping awfully,” he said. more

My favorit start Sachine Tendulkar joins 100-catch club. It’s record for 100 number of catches in a test career. Sachin Tendulkar joined the list of players who have taken 100 or more catches in Test cricket when he pouched a dolly offered to him at mid-on by Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Brad Haddin on the last day of the fourth and final Test in Nagpur on Monday.

The batting maestro, who holds several batting records in Tests and ODIs, reached the milestone in his 154th Test to follow compatriots Rahul Dravid (179), Sunil Gavaskar (108), VVS Laxman and Mohd Azharuddin (105) into the record book.

The world record for the most number of catches in a Test career, 181 in 128 matches, stands in the name of Mark Waugh of Australia.

Sachin Tendulkar gave glimpses of his vintage form by cracking his 40th Test century which had eluded him for long as India recovered from early jolts to push for a big total in the fourth and final cricket Test against Australia in Nagpur on Thursday.

The 35-year-old Tendulkar stole the limelight with a flurry of strokes and capitalised on two dropped catches to pull the team out of the pits and steer the visitors to a comfortable 311 for five at close on the opening day.

It was a huge relief for Tendulkar who had gone without a century for the last 15 Tests and faced some anxious moments before completing the milestone. The champion batsman had his share of luck as he was first dropped by Mitchell Johnson when on 85 and then by Brett Lee on 96 and faced some nervous moments before completing the century, his tenth against the Australians. His last century had also come against the Aussies — 153 in the fourth and final Test in Adelaide in January this year.

Tendulkar thus overtook Allan Border of Australia in the number of plus-50 scores in his career 91 (including 39 tons) as compared to the former Australian captain’s 90.

The stifling suspense and the prolonged wait finally came to an end as Sachin Tendulkar on Friday emerged as the highest run-accumulator in Test cricket’s history, staking a legitimate claim as the best batsman cricket has known since Don Bradman, both aesthetically and statistically.

After his mission incomplete in Bangalore, Tendulkar redeemed himself in Mohali in his 152nd Test and West Indian legend Brian Lara was toppled from the highest Test run-accumulator’s pedestal.

Test debutant Peter Siddle sent down the first ball of the post-tea session. Tendulkar glided it to third man for three runs to surpass Lara’s record of 11,953 runs and raise the bar even higher for posterity.

Relieved to have achieved the milestone that eluded him in Bangalore, an overwhelmed Tendulkar took the helmet off and looked upwards in a silent prayer and suddenly all the hostility surrounding the Indo-Australian Test series evaporated as Ricky Ponting and his men came to shake hands with him.

Sourav Ganguly walked down from the non-striker’s end, patting him on the achievement and firecrackers went off around the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in a pre-Diwali celebration to mark the golden moment in the history of Indian cricket.

Tendulkar arrived here with 11,939 runs against his name from 151 Tests, averaging 54.02 hitting 39 centuries in the process. His ODI record put together– he tops the run-accumulator’s chart there too with 16,361 runs –Tendulkar has scored more than 25,000 international runs with the help of a mindboggling (42+39) 81 centuries and 138 half-centuries.
