Good Evening Friends, Congratulations to Indian cricket team, my favourit Sachin Tendulkar and all my Indian cricket lovers. Indian beat England in first test match at Chennai.  My star Tendulkar hits 41st Test hundred with a swept boundary as India set a record for a victorious fourth-innings run chase on home soil to beat England by six wickets in the first cricket test.

Riding on knocks from Sachin Tendulkar (103*), Virender Sehwag (83) and Yuvraj Singh (84*), India galloped from behind to beat England by 6 wickets in the first Test at Chennai and take a 1-0 lead.

After England declared their innings on the fourth day for 386 runs, the match saw a dramatic turnaround when Sehwag went berserk to give India a fantastic start. He laid the perfect foundation for his mates to capitalize and was aptly adjudged the ‘Man of the Match’. Though he lost his wicket on Sunday, he had the match split wide open. 

Guiding India to victory with a four that also fetched him his 41st Test hundred, Sachin Tendulkar on Monday rated his knock in the first Test against England among his “very, very special” centuries.

“If the team wins the 100 become very very special, so this is right among my special centuries,” said Tendulkar, who scored an unbeaten 103 to guide India to a six-wicket victory at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here.

The Mumbai batsman hoped his feat would give some happiness to the people after the recent terror attacks in his city.

“What happened in Mumbai was extremely unfortunate. Cricket cannot lessen whatever happened… I hope this 100 will give some amount of happiness to the people,” he said.

“I thank those who stood up to the terrorists and who made sure that they were captured or shot dead as the terrorists were many.

“I salute the NSG commandos, Taj hotel staff, police, public and everyone,” he said paying rich tributes to the victims of recent terror attacks in Mumbai and saluted those who salvaged the lives of others.

Tendulkar said it was a very difficult track to bat on and that made the win all the more significant.

“The gameplan was to get opportunity for scoring more and more runs because the wicket was such and we could not be bogged down by that.

“This become a very very special victory on a track where the ball was jumping awfully,” he said. more

Sachin Tendulkar gave glimpses of his vintage form by cracking his 40th Test century which had eluded him for long as India recovered from early jolts to push for a big total in the fourth and final cricket Test against Australia in Nagpur on Thursday.

The 35-year-old Tendulkar stole the limelight with a flurry of strokes and capitalised on two dropped catches to pull the team out of the pits and steer the visitors to a comfortable 311 for five at close on the opening day.

It was a huge relief for Tendulkar who had gone without a century for the last 15 Tests and faced some anxious moments before completing the milestone. The champion batsman had his share of luck as he was first dropped by Mitchell Johnson when on 85 and then by Brett Lee on 96 and faced some nervous moments before completing the century, his tenth against the Australians. His last century had also come against the Aussies — 153 in the fourth and final Test in Adelaide in January this year.

Tendulkar thus overtook Allan Border of Australia in the number of plus-50 scores in his career 91 (including 39 tons) as compared to the former Australian captain’s 90.

The stifling suspense and the prolonged wait finally came to an end as Sachin Tendulkar on Friday emerged as the highest run-accumulator in Test cricket’s history, staking a legitimate claim as the best batsman cricket has known since Don Bradman, both aesthetically and statistically.

After his mission incomplete in Bangalore, Tendulkar redeemed himself in Mohali in his 152nd Test and West Indian legend Brian Lara was toppled from the highest Test run-accumulator’s pedestal.

Test debutant Peter Siddle sent down the first ball of the post-tea session. Tendulkar glided it to third man for three runs to surpass Lara’s record of 11,953 runs and raise the bar even higher for posterity.

Relieved to have achieved the milestone that eluded him in Bangalore, an overwhelmed Tendulkar took the helmet off and looked upwards in a silent prayer and suddenly all the hostility surrounding the Indo-Australian Test series evaporated as Ricky Ponting and his men came to shake hands with him.

Sourav Ganguly walked down from the non-striker’s end, patting him on the achievement and firecrackers went off around the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in a pre-Diwali celebration to mark the golden moment in the history of Indian cricket.

Tendulkar arrived here with 11,939 runs against his name from 151 Tests, averaging 54.02 hitting 39 centuries in the process. His ODI record put together– he tops the run-accumulator’s chart there too with 16,361 runs –Tendulkar has scored more than 25,000 international runs with the help of a mindboggling (42+39) 81 centuries and 138 half-centuries.

Good Morning friends, today is Thursday, August 28, 2008. My day started with prayer at Dadaji’s house as today is Thursday.  Back home I was reading new paper and I read this new which make me feel proud. As you all know I love game of crick too much. India won their first one-day series in Sri Lanka. This is first every win of one-day series in Sri lank by Indian crick team. Being Indian I take proud on my self, my country team beat Sir Lank in their home country. I like to Congratulate Mahendra Dhoni and rest of all the team member and wish best of luck for future matches. 

India won their first one-day series in Sri Lanka, triumphing by 46 runs at the Premadasa as the hosts lost consecutive home series for the first time.

India captain Mahendra Dhoni continued his fine form, hitting 71 and putting on 143 from 141 balls with Suresh Raina (76) as India were all out for 258.

Left-arm seamer Thilan Thushara took a career-best 5-47 for Sri Lanka.

But despite a blistering 60 from the veteran Sanath Jayasuriya, Sri Lanka’s batsmen were dismissed for 212.

The match, originally scheduled for Tuesday, had been postponed by a day because of rain.

And India, who had won the previous two games in the five-game series after losing the opener, put in a fine bowling performance to steal the series.

Harbhajan Singh found excessive turn under the floodlights in Colombo, and his figures of 3-40 were instrumental in providing India with the cutting edge they needed to press home their advantage.

Today is Wednesday, August 27, 2008, is Sir Donald Bradman’s birthday.  Sir Donald Bradman was greatest batsman from Australia. Cricket is one of my most favorite sports. I like to let everyone know about Sir Donald Bradman.

Sir Donald George Bradman, AC (27 August 1908 – 25 February 2001), often referred to as The Don, was an Australian cricketer, widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman of all time. Bradman’s career Test batting average of 99.94 has been claimed to be statistically the greatest achievement in any major sport.

The story that the young Bradman practised alone with a cricket stump and a golf ball is part of Australian folklore. Bradman’s meteoric rise from bush cricket to the Australian Test team took just over two years. Before his 22nd birthday, he had set many records for high scoring, some of which still stand, and became Australia’s sporting idol at the height of the Great Depression.

During a 20-year playing career, Bradman consistently scored at a level that made him, in the words of former Australia captain Bill Woodfull, “worth three batsmen to Australia”. A controversial set of tactics, known as Bodyline, was specifically devised by the England team to curb his scoring. As a captain and administrator Bradman was committed to attacking, entertaining cricket; he drew spectators in record numbers. He found the constant adulation anathema, however, and it affected how he dealt with others. The focus of attention on his individual performances strained relationships with some team-mates, administrators and journalists, who thought him aloof and wary. Following an enforced hiatus, due to the Second World War, he made a dramatic comeback, captaining an Australian team known as “The Invincibles” on a record-breaking unbeaten tour of England.

A complex, highly-driven man, not given to close personal relationships, Bradman retained a pre-eminent position in the game by acting as an administrator, selector and writer for three decades following his retirement. Even after he became reclusive in his declining years his opinion was highly sought, and his status as a national icon was still recognised—more than 50 years after his retirement as a Test player, in 2001, the Australian Prime Minister John Howard called him the “greatest living Australian”. Bradman’s image has appeared on postage stamps and coins, and he was the first living Australian to have a museum dedicated to his life. On the centenary of his birth, 27 August 2008, the Royal Australian Mint issued a $5 commemorative gold coin with his image.
